It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the Billboard chart-topping Christian singer, Lauren Daigle. On November 7, the performer packed Washington Artillery Park with controversial COVID-dodger Sean Feucht to perform a Christian-themed show for hundreds of unmasked viewers. Tonight, the American Music Awards honored Daigle as Favorite Artist in the Contemporary Inspirational category which included For King & Country and the infamous Kanye West.
After OffBeat and other media outlets reported on Lauren Daigle’s French Quarter-packed performance on the night of Joe Biden’s “presidential victory,” the singer took to Instagram to declare a “social media fast” and insisted that “[I]t is possible to pray for BOTH parties with a genuine heart despite political affiliation. May God be alive and well in our government and may we continue to keep our eyes fixed on him. THE GOVERNMENT IS ON HIS SHOULDERS.” Daigle attributed the quote to Isaiah 5:8. More recently, Daigle announced her 2021 tour dates, kicking off September 24, 2021 in Fort Wayne, Indiana; stopping October 14, 2021 in Lafayette, LA followed by November 6, 2021 in New Orleans; and concluding November 19, 2021 in Nashville.
The contemporary singer also has announced via her Instagram, which has a 2 million strong following, that she will be releasing a Christmas album in the weeks ahead.
