Nathan Fillion, the star of ABC’s hit series Castle, will reign as Monarch during this year’s Krewe of Orpheus. Joining him for the annual Lundi Gras parade will be his real-life significant other, actress Krista Allen, the star of CW’s Significant Mother.
Orpheus co-founder, American Idol judge and New Orleanian Harry Connick Jr. will also return to ride with the krewe.
Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and his 70s rock cover band Chevy Metal will headline the Orpheuscapade, a public gala that follows the parade, at the Morial Convention Center. That event will be hosted by insult comic Bianca Del Rio, and will feature another appearance by Connick. Performing on the bill with Chevy Metal will be returning crowd acts The Party Crashers and No Limits.
The 2016 Krewe of Orpheus will bring 40 floats, 30 marching bands and over 1,300 krewe members to New Orleans’ Uptown parade route on Monday, February 8. The parade will roll at 6pm, and the Orpheuscapade will begin at 7pm. This year’s theme is The Wizard’s Bestiary.
