Krewe of Red Beans, whose founder Devin De Wulf was recognized by Southern Living this year as a Southerner Making a Difference in Their Community, has announced the production of a live recorded Lundi Gras album that will support local musicians. De Wulf and the krewe were hailed by the lifestyle magazine for starting Feed the Front Line NOLA. The krewe purchased meals from local restaurants to be delivered to area hospitals by out-of-work artists and musicians they’d hired. Southern Living reported that by the program’s end on May 3, Feed the Front Line had raised more than $1 million.
Krewe of Red Beans will continue to generate mutual aid for the community with a Lundi Gras album featuring live recorded music from acts such as Bon Bon Vivant, Treme Brass Band, and more. Their website currently invites the public to “Join us as we create a live-album – the music of Lundi Gras! A COVID-safe, outside, kid-friendly concert series supporting the musicians that make Lundi Gras magical.”
