On Saturday, Oct. 26, join the Krewe of Mystic Orphans and Misfits (Krewe of MOMs) for another Halloween Costume Ball, with this year’s “Bound to Happen” theme. Featuring two stages, a dungeon with Happy Kitten Rope (keeping with the bondage theme) and a performance by The Maniac Eclipse at 2:30 a.m., M.O.M.s Halloween Costume Ball will kickoff at 9 p.m. 

This year’s Halloween All-Star Band includes singer and trumpet player Jennifer Hartswick of the Trey Anastasio Band, drummer Michelangelo Carubba of Turkauz, bassist George Gekas & guitarist Ed Williams of The Revivalists, guitarist Pete Murano of Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave., saxophonist Jason Mingledorff of Papa Grows Funk and organ player Chris Spies of Matador Soul Sounds.

Psychedelic rock band Hydra Plane, electronica duo P.Y.M.P and funk band Captain Green will also perform. At 10:30 p.m., The Honey Island Swamp Band set will consist of “Dark Side of the Swamp,” an entire set of Pink Floyd covers. 

At midnight, the event will showcase the M.O.M.s costume contest, when the contest winner will gain invitations to the Krewe’s Mardi Gras Ball. After the contest, the M.O.M.s Halloween All-Star band will perform.

Tickets for the “Bound to Happen” themed event will be available for purchase ($25) at the door or in advance at Le Bon Temp Roule (4801 Magazine St.). Attendees are encouraged to purchase MOMs’ reusable aluminum cups. The event will take place at Southport Hall (200 Monticello Ave.). Doors open at 9 p.m. Entry is not allowed without a costume.
