The Krewe de Void will host a special “a Mardi Gras ball like no other”—Carnivoid— this February.
From the Louisianians that brought you Dr. Dude’s Masquerade Parade & The Circular Purple Circus, The Iceman Special will grace the stage at the Joy, along with a stacked lineup featuring Break Science, TBC Brass Brand, plus many more “unpredictable backassward bewildering surprises.” The Iceman Special is a four-piece band transplanted from the swamps of Louisiana to New Orleans who create a sound that resonates with the psych-rock community as well as songs that explore reggae, funk, melodic pop, prog, and other influences. The bands live shows are notorious for their intensity and their use of innovative and creative visual stimuli while also taking pride in songwriting and the delivery of their message.
The Krewe De Void Carnivoid line-up boasts strong local and national musical talent along with stunning visual and immersive art experiences. Break Science members include Grammy-nominated drummer, producer, and Jazz Fest late-night veteran Adam Deitch (Lettuce), keyboardist and producer Borahm Lee (Pretty Lights Live Band), jazz bassist Hunter Robetsand more. Also supporting the strong line-up are local favorites the TBC Brass Band, with more artists to be announced.
