The Krewe of Boo’s annual Halloween events are set to take place throughout the city on October 23rd through the 25th. The krewe’s Halloween parade will rumble through the French Quarter and the Warehouse District on Saturday, October 24th at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday’s festivities will start with the krewe’s “King’s Party,” a free and open to the public concert on Fulton St. from 2 to 7 p.m., featuring Rockin’ Dopsie Jr. and the Zydeco Twisters, and Amanda Shaw. Guests will have the chance to greet this year’s Krewe of Boo King, Sidney Torres, IV and krewe members will get their last touch-ups before boarding the floats.
The floats, marching bands and special marching units will start their parading at the crossing of Chartres St. and Elysian Fields Ave. and roll through downtown, via N Peters, Decatur, Tchoupitoulas, to land at Blaine Kern’s Mardi Gras World for the Krewe of Boo’s “Monster Mash” after-party, starting at 9 p.m.
The after-parade costume party will feature music from Zigaboo Modeliste, Ian Neville, Ivan Neville, Big Sam, Tony Hall, Khris Royal, June Yamagishi and DJ Otto.
The Krewe of Boo is also organizing a private lunch at Galatoire’s on Friday, October 23rd at noon, a pre-party at the Maison on Frenchmen St. at 10 p.m., and a “Football Hangover Party” on Sunday, October 25th at Manning’s to recuperate while watching the Saints play the Indianapolis Colts at noon.
Registering to be a krewe member this year is still open and costs $1,100. Tickets for the Monster Mash after-party range from $30 to $100. The pre-party at Maison and football party cost $50 each. Private lunch at Galatoire’s is $125.
