On Thursday, September 11, Kermit Ruffins and Jo “Cool” Davis will be performing live at a Veterans Housing Outreach Ministries benefit for homeless, senior, and wounded veterans at 116 Byrd Lane, Hahnville, LA. The festivities are set to kick off at 9:00 a.m.
Retired Vietnam veteran Jerry Forstater, aka “Uncle Jerry,” will be bringing his 25 years of U.S. Naval service to bear as the event’s guest speaker.
It’s great to see these local legends gather in support of the needful vets that risked their lives for us all.
“We see veterans suffering everyday while continuing to live in unstable, unsanitary, and unsafe environments,” VHOM director Lisa Carey said in a press release. “Anything we can do to create energy for our grassroots movement to help our most needy vets through this difficult time is not only our responsibility, but an honor.”
Come out and shed some light on this national day of remembrance with the VHOM in Hahnville. A donation of $25 is suggested in advance, and $35 on the day of the event.
Tickets are available now, or call (504) 340-3429 for additional information.
