Songwriter Kelcy Mae, frontwoman for local Americana/Alt-Country band Ever More Nest, is hosting the 5th Biennial Merry Songwriter Revue at Bj’s Lounge on Thursday, December 14 at 7 p.m.. The night features an incredible lineup of songwriters and their BRAND NEW seasonal songs along with other holiday favorites. Music will kick off at 7pm with Ted Hefko, Mia Borders, Lilli Lewis, Bruisey Peets, Shawn Williams, Sarah Quintana, Sam Doores, Sabine McCalla and of course Kelcy Mae / Ever More Nest. Food will be available from Happy Dumplings Nola.

The Merry Songwriter Revue began in 2015 with the release of Kelcy Mae’s heartwarming 2015 song and video, Christmas with You (Merry Me), celebrating the Supreme Court ruling that overturned the Defense of Marriage Act. In 2022, Ever More Nest released another seasonal song with its electric single Happy New Year. Every two years, Kelcy gathers local artists for a night to celebrate holiday music by writing a new holiday-inspired song and performing a variety of Christmas carols, winter songs, traditionals/hymns, and holiday pop/rock covers.

Kelcy’s Merry Songwriter Revue was created to make you feel like you are, as she sings in the hook of “Merry Me”: “I want to spend Christmas with you. I want to feel the way merry folks do, ‘cause my family is yours and your family’s mine, yet we’re never together at Christmastime.”

Admission is $15 at the door.
