On Wednesday, July 15, the Historic New Orleans Collection will host a book release and signing for the highly anticipated new publication “The Katrina Decade: Images of an Altered City” by renowned photographer David Spielman.
With over 125 haunting photographs, the book beautifully documents the gradual recovery of New Orleans after the devastation of the storm.
The hardcover book includes essays by Spielman, preservationist Jack Davis, and photographic historian John H. Lawrence.
The book signing will be followed by a light reception.
The event is free and open to the public and will take place from 6-8 p.m. at 533 Royal Street in the French Quarter.
Additionally, a companion exhibition will be on view Aug. 22, 2015–Jan. 9, 2016, at The Historic New Orleans Collection’s dedicated art gallery, 400 Chartres St. in the French Quarter.
