On May 3, 2019, the late Aretha Franklin will be honored with a tribute concert in New Orleans at the Orpheum Theater.
Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe Presents R.E.S.P.E.K.T. – A Special Tribute to The Queen of Soul (a Winter Circle Productions event) takes place during the second weekend of Jazz Fest as part of WCP’s Jazz Fest 2019 schedule branded as ‘Fest After Dark.’
As of now, there are few details about event specifics, including any potential performers other than KDTU. However, considering the bevy of talent who’ll be in town for Jazz Fest, there’s no telling who may show up.
The 2019 ‘Fest After Dark’ schedule includes a two-night run by Phil Lesh and The Terrapin Family Band on Thursday, April 25 and Friday, April 26, 2019; An Evening with Mike Gordon on Friday, May 3, 2019; a two-night run of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27, 2019; a three-night run of The String Cheese Incident on Thursday, May 2, Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4, 2019; and JJ Grey & Mofro on Friday, April 26, 2019.
