Kamasi Washington will return to One Eyed Jacks for another series of Jazz Fest after shows. This year’s run will consist of six performances, with one early set and one late night set taking place each night from May 4 to 6.
Washington rose to prominence in 2015 with the release of his stellar debut album The Epic, a nearly three hour juggernaut that he released via Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label. The UCLA-educated virtuoso–who has performed with the likes of Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Lauryn Hill, Nas, Chaka Khan, Ryan Adams and many more–also earned acclaim when his sax prowess was featured on Kendrick Lamar’s critically-acclaimed, smash hit album To Pimp a Butterfly.
Washington recently headlined the 15th edition of Jam Cruise, where he played two well-received shows and even sat in with The Original Meters during one of their performances.
Tickets for all six shows are now on sale.
