As if Jazz Fest didn’t already promise one of the year’s most robust musical extravaganzas, it’s been announced that Joe Russo’s Almost Dead will be performing during the second weekend of next year’s festival. On Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5, Mardi Gras World Ballroom will host the rock band (comprised of Scott Metzger, Tommy Hamilton, Dave Dreiwitz, Marco Benevento and Joe Russo) whose history of selling out the Joy Theater makes this a must-see weekend of music in a larger venue, and not just for fans of the Grateful Dead.

Also announced today (October 16) is pre-sale information. The local presale begins this Thursday, October 19 at 10a.m. local time with the password “JRADNOLA.” Friday, October 20 at 1p.m. marks the onset of the general sale. As part of the two-night run, there will be General Admission, VIP admission, as well as both General Admission and VIP combo ticket available for purchase that will allow guests entrance into both shows. VIP tickets include VIP-Only Commemorative Laminate; Express VIP-Only Entrance Lane; Exclusive VIP-Only Balcony Viewing; and a premium VIP-Only “cash” bar. 2-Night Pass includes a ticket to each show night. 2-Night Passes must be picked up at Will Call on day of show.
