The Jesus Christ Superstar Arena Spectacular, which was set to premier at the UNO Lakefront Arena on June 9 to kick off a 50 city nationwide tour, has been cancelled.

The show, which was to star John “Johnny Rotten” Lydon from the Sex Pistols as King Herod, Destiny’s Child star Michelle Williams as Mary Magdalene, JC Chasez from *NSYNC as Pontius Pilate, Incubus singer Brandon Boyd as Judas Iscariot, and British actor and singer Ben Foster as Jesus, was designed to be a reimagined arena rock version of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s groundbreaking rock musical Jesus Christ Superstar.

All tickets for the show will be refunded, and there has been no talk so far of rescheduling the tour.
