It’s been a long six months for local fans of the Jesus and Mary Chain, who will make good on their postponed March 12 date at House of Blues this evening. Scottish siblings Jim and William Reid helped usher in the shoegaze era with their brooding wash of reverb and distortion before calling it quits in the late ‘90s, only to reunite in 2007.
A memorable spot on the soundtrack to 2003 film Lost in Translation – this scene, anyone? – introduced the alt icons to a new generation, and prompted major fuzz-rock flashbacks for Gen Xers.
