The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, presented by Shell, is now accepting craft applications for its 2025 event. Artists and artisans from across the globe are invited to participate, with the opportunity to display their unique creations in three distinct craft areas.
The Festival will be held from April 24 to May 4, 2025, continuing its tradition of celebrating culture, music, and art. Here are the three vibrant craft areas open for submissions:
- Congo Square African Marketplace: This area highlights unique, handcrafted works that draw inspiration from the African Diaspora. Artists and vendors feature creations that reflect the deep African-Caribbean cultural roots associated with Congo Square, making it a dynamic and historic marketplace.
- Contemporary Crafts: Featuring talented artists from Louisiana and beyond, this section showcases original, handcrafted, and one-of-a-kind designs. Open to all media and disciplines, it attracts national and international artisans, making it a favorite stop for art lovers.
- Louisiana Marketplace: Reserved exclusively for Louisiana-based artists and craftspeople, this section highlights the state’s rich cultural heritage through various mediums. Visitors can explore works that celebrate the diverse traditions of Louisiana’s artistic legacy.
Artists are permitted to apply to more than one craft area, though they may only exhibit in one. Vendors in the Congo Square African Marketplace are uniquely allowed to sell handcrafted imports.
