The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has confirmed that it will announce its lineup on Tuesday, January 19.
The annual, seven-day music, food and culture festival will return to New Orleans’ Fair Grounds Race Course from April 22 to May 1. While there hasn’t been much info regarding performers at this year’s event, a few artists have already confirmed that they will be appearing. Paul Simon made such an announcement during last month’s tribute to Allen Toussaint, and Consequence of Sound claims that Bob Seger, Michael McDonald and Nicholas Payton are all set to perform.
A few after shows–which aren’t officially associated with the festival–have been confirmed as well, including an Original Meters reunion at the Orpheum Theater on May 22.
We’ll find out the official lineup for sure in just one week, when Jazz Fest announces its 2016 talent. Ticketing information will also be available when the lineup is finally revealed.
Last year’s Jazz Fest featured headlining performances by Elton John, The Who, Eh Sheeran, Wilco, Keith Urban, Pitbull, Jimmy Buffet & The Coral Reefer Band, No Doubt, T.I., John Legend, Steve Winwood, Alison Krauss, Tony Bennet and Lady Gaga, Widespread Panic, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Guy, Jimmy Cliff, Ryan Adams, the Original Meters, Maze, Hozier and many more.
