JAMNOLA® to Close Royal St. Location by End of 2024

The beloved cultural funhouse, JAMNOLA®, will close the doors of its original Royal Street location on December 31, 2024, as confirmed by Intellectual Blonde PR. The immersive, art-filled space, which has welcomed visitors from around the world since its opening in August 2020, will bid farewell to its first home but promises an exciting new beginning on Frenchmen Street in early 2025.

JAMNOLA® became a standout attraction during the pandemic, offering locals and tourists alike a colorful, playful tribute to New Orleans’ unique culture. The 17 exhibit rooms, created by over 30 local artists, have captured the spirit of the city through interactive displays, vibrant installations and nods to iconic NOLA staples like Mardi Gras beads, crawfish and the Mississippi River.

With the closure on the horizon, JAMNOLA® is encouraging fans to visit the Royal Street location before it’s gone. The popular installations, including the giant crawfish pot and golden gator, will remain on display until the end of the year, giving visitors one last opportunity to snap photos in these iconic backdrops.

To make the experience more accessible to the local community, JAMNOLA® is extending its “Locals Thursdays” pricing to all weekdays (Monday, Thursday and Friday) until the closure. Louisiana residents can enjoy 50% off ticket prices by purchasing online and presenting a valid ID at check-in.

In addition to the discount, JAMNOLA® is donating 504 tickets to local nonprofits supporting individuals facing financial hardship. This effort ensures that more people from the community can visit and celebrate the immersive art before the original location’s final days.

Though the Royal Street chapter is closing, founders Jonny Liss and Chad Smith are eager to reveal what’s next. They have confirmed that the new JAMNOLA® experience will debut on Frenchmen Street in 2025, with fresh installations and collaborations from new artists. More details about this exciting new phase will be shared in early November.

For now, fans of the original JAMNOLA® can savor the last few months of the Royal Street location and look forward to the creativity that awaits in the new year.

JAMNOLA® is New Orleans’ first experiential museum, offering visitors a 5,400-square-foot adventure through 17 vibrant exhibits celebrating the city’s art, music and culture. For more information and tickets, visit JAMNOLA.com.
