Ivan Neville has unveiled the official music video for “Greatest Place On Earth,” a standout track from his latest album, ‘Touch My Soul’ just in time for Mardi Gras. The video is a heartfelt homage to the city’s incomparable energy during its most iconic season. It seamlessly weaves together a tapestry of Crescent City traditions, featuring scenes of “second line” street parades, Mardi Gras Indians and the revelry of parade-goers.
Shot against the backdrop of Preservation Hall, the video showcases Neville and his ensemble in a studio performance alongside special musical guests Trombone Shorty and members of Preservation Hall, including Ben Jaffe and Charlie Gabriel.
“I’m proud to offer a glimpse into the unique and soulful city of New Orleans, my hometown, the greatest place on earth!” commented Neville on the release of the music video.
The track itself serves as an anthem to the culture, resilience, and joy of New Orleans, embodying the spirit of the city with its infectious rhythms and soulful melodies. Neville’s heartfelt lyrics capture the essence of Mardi Gras, celebrating the city’s rich heritage and vibrant community.
The release of the “Greatest Place On Earth” music video follows the success of Neville’s album, ‘Touch My Soul,’ his first solo endeavor in nearly two decades. Praised for its authentic storytelling and musical depth, the album pays homage to New Orleans’ musical heritage while showcasing Neville’s signature style.
