Tonight at Gert Town’s Hangar 13, Mannie Fresh is set to take the stage of his inaugural, monthly Beat Summit series as part of a bill that pits legendary, New Orleans hip-hop labels Cash Money and No Limit’s most prolific producers against each other in a beat battle royale for the ages. Squaring off against Fresh — the mastermind behind such Cash Money classics as Juvenile’s “Back That Azz Up,” B.G.’s “Bling, Bling,” the Big Tymers’ “Still Fly” and Lil Wayne’s “Go D.J.” — is the first lieutenant of No Limit’s Beats by the Pound production squad, KLC, whose arsenal includes anthems such as TRU’s “I’m Bout’ It, Bout It,” Master P’s “Make ‘Em Say Uhh!” Snoop Dogg’s “Down 4 My Niggaz” and Ludacris’ “Move Bitch.”
Hangar 13 is located at 1511 South Rendon Steet (map). Doors open at 8:00 p.m., and the show begins at 9:00. Tickets are $15 and available at the gate. If you’re ’bout it, ’bout it or looking to wha-wha-what drop it like it’s hot, get there! Word is a special celebrity guest will be on board to kick start the party.
