Communion will bring its popular Residency showcase to New Orleans for the first time next year. The event will makes its debut at Gasa Gasa on Saturday, February 27 with a lineup that includes Allan Rayman and Coyotes.
The Communion Residencies are monthly showcases of local, national and international up-and-coming talent. Organized by artist-led organization Communion Music, the Residencies currently take place in 13 different American cities, including New York, Chicago, Nashville, Philadelphia and Austin.
“We’re thrilled to expand the Communion Residency tour into New Orleans, a city with a great music scene” said Tyler Bates, Head of Operations & Business Development at Communion Presents. “The New Orleans show, along with all 12 other shows on the tour, is full of artists on the rise. We can’t wait to showcase them in front of audiences across the U.S.”
Communion Music was founded in London in 2006 by Mumford and Son’s Ben Lovett, Bear’s Den’s Kevin Jones and producer Iam Grimble. The organization went on to curate a series of showcase across the UK that prodvided an independent platform for emerging young artists to be discovered. The US-based Communion Residencies were borne out of those events.
Tickets for New Orleans’ first Communion Residency are now available for $8, though they will be $13 at the door.
