The House of Blues and the Foundation Room New Orleans will present a semi-weekly Virtual Concert Series celebrating the deep musical culture of New Orleans. The series will feature local artists representing the many different cultures that make New Orleans one of the most musical cities in the world. When the House of Blues reopens the series will continue live, in person, with a portion of the ticket and bar proceeds benefitting a local relief fund or organization. Until then, viewers can support performing artists through virtual tip jars.
The first virtual performance is set for 7 p.m. CDT on Thursday, April 23 (then for every Tuesday and Thursday thereafter) and will feature New Orleans native Dawn Richard. Since 2004, Dawn has been one of music’s most distinctive voices and songwriters. She was a member of Danity Kane and then Diddy-Dirty Money, releasing the cult R&B classic Last Train to Paris. However, it is as a solo artist that she has really soared.
The House of Blues will stream live in-house performance from House of Blues New Orleans Instagram and Facebook pages. Fans will be able to watch live and engage through these social channels and are encouraged to support performing artists through artists’ virtual tip jars.
