Hogs for the Cause will return to New Orleans’ City Park on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2. The annual barbecue competition, music festival and charity event will once again raise money for the families of children with pediatric brain cancer.
This year’s gathering will be headlined by Americana jam band Greensky Bluegrass, husband-and-wife folk rock duo Shovels & Rope and roots-infused alternative rockers Deer Tick.
Louisiana’s own Dragon Smoke, Tab Benoit, Kristin Diable, The Deslondes, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Sweet Crude and Luke Winslow-King Electric Trio will also perform at Hogs for the Cause, while Twiddle, Phil Cook, Great Peacock and Motel Radio round out the lineup.
Two-day passes for the festival are now on sale, and single-day tickets will be available on January 11. However, registration for the 2016 barbecue competition is already closed, so cooks that would like to test their mettle will have to wait until the following year.
