Hell Yes Fest to Host Competitive Comedy Showcase at Joy Theater

The fifth annual Hell Yes Fest is coming to New Orleans in October, but before that, the final round of Hell Yes Next will take over Joy Theater on June 24.

Started by Stand Up NOLA and Hell Yes Fest founder Chris Trew, Hell Yes Next is a competition that aims to find the best comic in New Orleans.

Trew will host the final round, and the winner will take home a cash prize, secure a slot at the upcoming Hell Yes Fest and potentially gain national recognition to help launch their career.

Some of the local comedians competing are Mary-Devon Dupuy, Dane Faucheux, Benjamin Hoffman, Lane Lonion, Addy Najera and Vincent Zambon.

While the evening be filled with the competitors’ comedic ramblings, it will also feature an announcement of the headliners for the 2016 Hell Yes Fest.

The show begins at 8 p.m. with doors opening at 7 p.m. General admission is $20 and $30 for VIP.

Hell Yes Fest–the Gulf Coast’s largest comedy festival–will take place October 7-16. Last year’s performers included Tim Heidecker, Nikki Glaser, Todd Barry and Judah Friedlander.
