Sarah Silverman will headline the 2016 Hell Yes Fest with a set at New Orleans’ Saenger Theatre on Sunday, October 16. The show will close out the popular comedy festival, which is slated to bring several stand up acts to venues across town between October 7 and October 16.
Other comics on the initial lineup include Nick Swardson, Cameron Esposito, Fortune Feimster, Hasan Minhaj, Carly Aquilino, Rhea Butcher, Jamie Lee, Annie Lederman, Clayton English and Matt Ingebretson. More comedians will be added to the bill in the coming months.
Since its founding in 2010, the Hell Yes has grown into the largest comedy festival in the Gulf South. Past editions have featured appearances by Tim Heidecker, Doug Benson, Nikki Glaser, Todd Barry, Eric Andre and plenty of others.
The 2016 lineup was unveiled during the Hell Yes Next showcase at the Joy Theater on Friday night. Eight local comics competed for a cash prize and a chance to perform at the upcoming Hell Yes Fest during the event, which was won by Dane Faucheux.
The 2016 festival appears to be moving on to bigger venues than in years past. While the 2015 festival featured sets at places like Public House and Cafe Istanbul, this year’s edition will bring shows to larger rooms like the Saenger Theatre, Joy Theater and Nola Brewing Co.
Tickets for the 2016 Hell Yes Fest will go on sale at 10am on Wednesday, June 29.
In related news, comedy superstar Amy Schumer recently announced that she will headline New Orleans’ Smoothie King Center on New Year’s Eve.
