Harry Connick Jr. will get his own syndicated daytime variety show next year.
Variety reports that the New Orleans-native, who is currently a judge on American Idol, will launch his new show, Harry, in the fall of 2016. The program will be produced and distrubted by NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution, and has already been picked up by 17 Fox-owned stations in major markets.
Early reports indicate that Harry will feature a mix of musical performances, field pieces, crowd participation, sketch comedy and more. NBCUniversal has brought on Late Show with David Letterman veterans Eric and Justin Stangel as executive producers.
Connick, a New Orleans Center for Creative Arts graduate and the son of former Orleans Parish District Attorney Joseph Harry Fowler Connick Sr., has come a long way since he answered 20 questions for OffBeat back in November of 1989. You can take a look at that throwback interview here.
