Stranded South Music and Media, with enthusiastic help from the city of Harahan, will be hosting the first Harahan Music Festival + Food Drive on Saturday, May 15, from 2-10 p.m.
Live music and entertainment will begin at Zeringue Park, located at 501 Oak Avenue, featuring the Andre Lovett Band from 2-3:15 p.m. followed by Bon Bon Vivant from 3:30-5 p.m. Attendees can then catch the Felipe K-Rrera Jazz Quartet at Bienvenue, 467 Hickory Avenue, from 5-8p, and Jamie Bernstein & the Yakameiniacs at My Brother’s Bar, 6901 Jefferson Highway, from 8-10 p.m.
Festival organizers request attendees donate between five to ten nonperishable food items with drop-offs at Bienvenue, My Brother’s Bar, or Koz’s, 6215 Wilson Street, or a receptacle at Zeringue Park. All donated food and excess profits will be given to the St. Rita Food Bank to assist families in Harahan and River Ridge.
