One day, one band, one stage. That’s how it all started in 1994. Twenty years later, Gretna Heritage Festival has greatly expanded to become a three-day event showcasing over 50 local and international bands on seven different stages.
For its 20th anniversary, the headliners’ list includes the very popular Cee Lo Green, classic-rock stalwarts Lynyrd Skynyrd, and The Guess Who, while Big Smo and DJ Wick-it the Instigator will appear for rap and electronic music fans.
Two big names stand out, namely pedal steel genius Robert Randolph who will take over the festival with his funky Family Band, as well as the Gregg Allman Band, whose latest release has shown the artist’s work in an intimate yet powerful setting. The musical journey will as always also include shows from local bands and artists, such as Louisiana Spice Band, Carlo Ditta and Lena Prima.
Gretna Heritage Festival will once again also present some of the finest local and international cuisine, especially throughout its Italian Village and German Beer Garden. Carnival rides, games, and arts and crafts booths will complete the whole, making sure everyone finds something to their taste all along the weekend.
Day tickets are $20 and Weekend passes $47.50, both purchasable through Ticketmaster beginning Saturday, August 9.
