The Grammy Museum Mississippi will kick off the Music Tourism Convention with a special outdoor concert featuring Chapel Hart, the Poplarville, Mississippi-born family trio, 2022 “America’s Got Talent” finalists, and winners at OffBeat’s 2022 Best of The Beat Awards. The event will occur on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, on the museum’s lawn at 7 p.m.
Chapel Hart comprises sisters Danica Hart and Devynn Hart and their cousin Trea Swindle. The group’s performance will mark the opening of the Music Tourism Convention, which will take place in Cleveland, Mississippi, from April 11 to April 14, 2023.
Mississippi has touted itself worldwide as the “Birthplace of America’s Music,” and Cleveland is home to the Grammy Museum Mississippi, located within a 35-mile radius of over 40 Mississippi Blues Trail sites, including Dockery Farms, widely considered the birthplace of Delta blues.
The Music Tourism Convention is in its sixth global and second USA edition. Visit Mississippi, Visit Cleveland, GRAMMY Museum Mississippi, Clark Beverage Company, Delta Magazine, Nehi Bottling Company, and Whole Cellars Package Store sponsor it.
“We are thrilled to welcome the incredibly talented Chapel Hart to our museum for a special outdoor concert event,” said Emily Havens, Executive Director of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi. “It’s also a pleasure to have members of our Youth Leadership Council present to help produce the event.”
The Youth Leadership Council (YLC) at the museum is sponsored by the Cleveland Rotary Club and gives high school students a voice in the Cleveland community. Students from different high schools in the area help spread the word about the Grammy Museum Mississippi and learn leadership, public speaking, and event production skills.
Tickets for the Chapel Hart concert can be purchased for $10 starting March 3 at the Grammy Museum Mississippi or online at grammymuseumms.org. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the event beginning at 6 p.m.
The Chapel Hart concert will draw a large crowd and kick off the Music Tourism Convention in style, highlighting Mississippi’s rich musical history and global impact.
