The Recording Academy Memphis Chapter is hosting two opportunities for New Orleans musicians to submit recordings for GRAMMY Award consideration.
The first session will be held on Monday, August 25 from 2-5 p.m. at the New Orleans Musicians Union Hall (2401 Esplanade Avenue). The second session will occur on August 26 from 2-5 p.m. at the Tipitina’s Music Office Co-Op in Lafayette (203 Jefferson Street).
Only recordings that were released commercially between October 1, 2013, and September 30, 2014, and were available through nationwide realtors such as Barnes & Noble or iTunes are eligible to apply.
Artists attending the sessions are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their selected recordings to be sent in to the Academy.
During the two sessions, Academy appointed New Orleans-based Member Services representative Reid Wick will be assisting artists entering recordings for consideration.
Previous GRAMMY winners from New Orleans include Dr. John, Lil Wayne, Rebirth Brass Band and Harry Connick Jr.
