This Saturday afternoon, February 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. the Audubon Zoo will hold its sixth annual gospel music showcase, “Get Yah Praise On.” The event, which also commemorates Black History Month, will feature guest MCs Trazi Lashawn and Loretta Petit, with performances by Nikia Russell & Youth in Music, Collage III, Household of Faith Family Worship Church Seasoned Saints, Royal Priesthood Music Group, Kim Che’re, the Showers and recent Grammy Award nominee Bishop Paul S. Morton Sr., who, after witnessing the Grammy’s mass nuptial ceremony, has since taken to Twitter to rally support against homosexuality and same-sex marriage.
“Get Yah Praise On” will take place at the zoo’s Capital One Stage and Field can be attended for free by anyone who’s paid the zoo’s entry fee. Admission to the Audubon Zoo is $12.00 for children 12 and under, $13.00 for adults over 65 and $17.50 for all between the ages of 17 and 64. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate.
