George Porter Jr. will celebrate his 68th birthday with a stacked show at the Howlin’ Wolf in New Orleans this Saturday, December 26.
The annual Birthday Bash will feature Porter’s longtime band The Runnin’ Pardners, as well as special guest appearances by John Gros, Brint Anderson, Mike Lemmler, Terrence Houston and Khris Royal. Other guests that are scheduled to play include Mark Mullins, Tracy Griffin, Alonzo Bowens, Brian Graber and Doug Belote.
This Saturday’s show will feature a complete performance of the Runnin’ Pardners’ self-titled debut album, along with songs from the band’s Joy Ride EP and much more. Doors for the gig will open at 9:30pm, and tickets are currently available online.
Porter is also doing his part to spread the holiday spirit with a free download of his track “Christmas in New Orleans,” which you can download here.
