Funk-rock masters and Jazz Fest favorites Lettuce will return to Colorado’s famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre for their 2nd annual Rage Rocks show on Saturday, May 13. It won’t be any old Lettuce show, however, as New Orleans icons George Porter Jr. and Cyril Neville will perform with them as special guests. Wu Tang Clan rapper Ghostface Killah will also be on hand to join the band.
In addition to the main event, Rage Rocks will feature supporting sets from Turkuaz, The Russ Liquid Test and J Rocc of the Beat Junkies.
Both Lettuce and George Porter Jr. made appearances on the 15th edition of Jam Cruise, which set sail from Miami two weeks ago. The legendary bassist and his wife, Ara, even celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their wedding vows during The Original Meters’ headlining set on the cruise’s third day.
As previously reported, Lettuce recently announced a Jazz Fest after show at Tipitina’s for Sunday, April 30. The news wasn’t much of a surprise considering the group’s longstanding reputation as an in-demand Jazz Fest act, as well as the fact that keyboardist/vocalist Nigel Hall and trumpeter Eric “Benny’ Bloom now call the Crescent City home.
Tickets for Rage Rocks will go on sale this Friday, February 3 at 10am MT.
