The Wednesday at the Square concert yesterday featured George Porter, Jr. along with openers the Lee Boys, a Sacred Steel gospel group from Miami, Florida. “Big” Sam Williams took a guest turn on trombone alongside the Boys. Bassist George Porter, Jr.’s solo band included Brint Anderson on guitar, Terrence Houston on drums, and Mike Lemmler on keyboard, and featured two guests: Khris Royal taking solos on both his sax and the EWI (pictured below), and Porter’s daughter Katrina Porter-Dean, who sang with the band. Next week’s Wednesday at the Square show will feature eclectic rockers the Iguanas with opening Latin soul band Los Po-Boy-Citos.
