Earlier this year we reported that the Flaming Lips will headline the first-ever Bear Creek Bayou Music Festival in New Orleans. The new event, which is slated to take place at Mardi Gras World on September 30 and October 1, is being put on by the people behind Florida’s long-running (though now-defunct) Bear Creek Music Festival.
Other artists on the initial bill included Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Lettuce, Soulive, Foundation of Funk (feat. George Porter, Zigaboo Modeliste, John Medeski and Eddie Roberts), Lotus, Dumpstaphunk and many more.
Now the festival has unveiled its final lienup, with top-notch additions like George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, Bernard Purdie & Friends (feat. Ivan Neville Pete Shand and Brian J), The Budos Band, Green Is Beautiful: A Tribute to Grant Green with Eddie Roberts, The Heavy Pets, Honey Island Swamp Band, Gravity A and Cha Wa, among others.
As previously reported, Bear Creek Bayou will also throw an official pre-party with Soulive & Friends, OG Garage A Trois, Naughty Professor with Chali 2na and Pirate’s Choice at the Joy Theater on Thursday, September 29.
Tickets for the festival are on sale now.
