Gentilly Fest comes back to the Pontchartrain Park playground from October 11 – 13. The Festival presented by Capital One Bank will have New Orleans music, food, artists and family fun activities. The music will start at 6 p.m. on Friday and at noon on Saturday and Sunday.
The festival starts Friday night with NOSACONN Presents, Russell Batiste and Friends, and Matt Dillon and the NOLA Resistance. Saturday you can see performances by headliners Michaela Harrison, Casme’ and Bounce Royalty. Sunday’s lineup includes Tonya Boyd-Cannon, Bamboula 2000 and Partners-N-Crime.
There will also be a Gospel tent hosting choirs from throughout the city. The Zulu Ensemble, the Greater St. Stephen FGBC Choir, and Tyrone Jefferson & Abundant Life Tabernacle will be a few of the voices heard Saturday and Sunday.
Local vendors at the festival will sell food as well as arts & crafts. More food options will be available at the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots Dining Tent. Folgers Coffee is going to offer hot and cold cups of coffee for anyone who needs a pick-me-up. You can get your face painted among other family friendly activities with the Banner Chevrolet Kids area. Or, if you’re worried about missing the Saints game, you can check up on it at the AT&T tent.
Gentilly Fest is a free festival. The fest raises money through sponsorships and fundraisers to donate to organizations and better the Gentilly area. You can learn more at their website here.
