Galactic will return to Tipitina’s for their annual New Year’s Eve show at the iconic New Orleans venue on Saturday, December 31.
The Uptown music establishment has played host to Galactic on more occasions than one could count, including a number of end-of-the-year blowouts. There’s currently no word on who will open for them or who will handle vocal duties, but New Orleans singer Erika Falls has been holding down the latter position for the past two years.
Galactic last appeared on the cover OffBeat exactly one year ago, when they were the subject of our September 2015 story, Art by Democracy. The article was published a few weeks after the release of their latest album, Into the Deep, and a few week’s before the band’s inaugural Landing Festival, which took place at the New Orleans lakefront. The festival’s second edition was postponed earlier this year on account of the ongoing construction at its location.
Galactic also recently played a show with Lee Oskar of War at the Lockn’ Festival in Virginia (check out photos and video of the collaboration here).
Tickets for Galactic’s New Year’s Eve are now available to members of their fan club, but will go on sale to the general public this Friday, September 23, at 10am.
