National Fried Chicken Festival 2023 Returns to New Orleans Lakefront This Weekend

The National Fried Chicken Festival 2023 will return to the New Orleans Lakefront on Saturday, September 30, and Sunday, October 1, this weekend. This popular culinary event will once again aim to provide attendees two days of fried chicken, live music and activities.

On Saturday, visitors can expect a lineup of musical performances featuring notable acts such as Big Freedia, Flow Tribe, Khris Royal, Big 6 Brass Band and Trumpet Mafia, among others. The festival continues on Sunday with performances by The Soul Rebels, Shamarr Allen, Saxkixave, Kermit Ruffins and more, providing a diverse musical lineup.

The main highlight of the National Fried Chicken Festival is, of course, the fried chicken. Local vendors and those from across the country will offer their interpretations of this beloved plate, with the goal of providing attendees the opportunity to try various flavors and styles, as well as other food options like snowballs.

While the 2021 version of the event had to be called off, festival organizers instead revitalized the event and turned it into a weeklong celebration in the National Fried Chicken Festival Week that year. The festival was reimagined, and last year’s festival returned with many fan favorite competitions and traditions.

Apart from food and music, festival-goers can partake in a block party featuring activities and games courtesy of Raising Cane’s. It’s an opportunity for families and children to
