Filming and casting crews for French television show Music Explorer (in which four well-known singers from France travel to four different francophone regions of the world to audition local artists) arrive on April 23rd and are on the hunt for Louisiana-based singers.
The program is both a talent show—one contestant from each region will perform in a final concert in France in October—and a travel documentary that explores each region’s “musical universe” and highlights aspects of local culture.
Tété, the French star coming to this region, will hold auditions from April 23rd through April 30th.
The crew is trying to get in touch with as many French-speaking singers here as possible, whether Cajun French, West African, Haitian, or even English-speaking Americans who know a little French from school.
Contestants don’t need to be fluent; they just have to know enough to understand a bit and be able to perform one French cover during the audition.
