The French Quarter Festival has unveiled the schedule for this year’s event. The news–or rather, the “cubes”–came today via a press conference at the Omni Royal Orleans
As previously reported, the French Quarter Festival will return to New Orleans Thursday, April 7 through Sunday, April 10. Performers include Irma Thomas, Sonny Landreth, Raw Oyster Cult, Cowboy Mouth, Honey Island Swamp Band, Paul Sanchez, Astral Project, Amanda Shaw, Flow Tribe, Dash Rip Rock, Bonerama, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Ellis Marsalis, Sweet Crude, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Benny Grunch and the Bunch, the New Orleans Suspects, Kermit Ruffins & The Barbecue Swingers, Deacon John, The Revelers, John Boutte, Johnny Sketch & The Dirty Notes and many more.
Today’s press conference also included details on the previously announced tribute to Allen Toussaint, which will take over the House of Blues on Friday, April 8. The ticketed after party will feature performances by the Allen Toussaint Band, Leo Nocentelli, Big Sam, James Andrews, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Davell Crawford and Robin Barnes, among others. Proceeds from the event will go to New Orleans Artists Against Hunger and Homelessness, a nonprofit founded by Toussaint and Aaron Neville in 1985.
