The 2015 French Quarter Festival is raffling off a chance to party with Kermit Ruffins before and during the festival.
Sponsor Harrelson Trumpets built and donated a unique trumpet to be auctioned off by the festival, but Executive Director Marci Schramm said she wanted to do something a little different.
“Instead of just auctioning off a trumpet, we’re going to give this beautiful trumpet to Kermit,” Schramm said. “We’re going to have a lot of fun with that. We’re going to have a raffle that we’re going to call ‘the Kermit Ruffins Experience at French Quarter Festival.’”
The winner of the raffle will have lunch with Jason Harrelson, the founder of Harrelson Trumpets, and Ruffins at his Mother In Law Lounge before heading to the festival in a limo with the trumpeter.
While Ruffins is on the stage, the winner will be invited to sit on stage with friends and enjoy drinks and the great New Orleans music.
The raffle prize also includes a framed, autographed photo of Kermit, Jason, the trumpet, and the winner on stage at the festival and an autographed copy of Kermit’s CD releases,We Partyin’ Traditional Style and #ImSoNewOrleans.
“A big thanks to Mr. Harrelson. This is one beautiful trumpet, I can tell you,” Ruffins said. “I’m, looking forward to playing this trumpet at the festival.”
Raffle tickets are available on the French Quarter Fest website, and all proceeds will benefit the local non-profit.
