French Quarter Fest will celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2018 and has announced plans for its annual fundraising gala. On March 15, the beloved organization responsible for one of the city’s greatest festivals will pay tribute to Fats Domino at Antoine’s Restaurant.
French Quarter Festival, Inc’s 35th Anniversary Gala: A Tribute to Fats serves as a benefit for the organization’s musician fund. According to organizers, the event will include a Patron Party from 7-8 p.m. with a performance from Mike Harvey’s Hot Club. There, “A Taste of the Fest” will serve up bite-sized versions of the festival’s most popular dishes throughout its history, thanks to vendors including Lakeview Harbor, Mrs. Wheat’s Pies, Restaurant R’evolution, Wink’s Bakery, Rib Room and Ruth’s Chris Steak House.
Immediately following is the Gala, which runs from 8-10:30 p.m. and features entertainment from Henry Butler, who will perform a tribute to Fats and other New Orleans legends. The party will feature a full dinner menu by Antoine’s and an open bar courtesy of Abita Brewing Company and Brown-Forman.
Early-bird tickets are available through Feb 15 and may be purchased online or by calling (504) 522-5730.
The music lineup for French Quarter Fest 2018 is expected to arrive February 20.
