Thursday, November 17, the French Market hosted its annual lighting of the Christmas tree across the street from Jackson Square. The ceremonies began with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra Brass Quintet performing along with carolers from Bon Operatit. At 6 p.m., characters from the Living History Project helped light the 27-foot Christmas tree, followed by performances by the New Wave Brass Band and Cullen Landry & The Midnight Streetcar.
