Toulouse Theatre will host Fleur de Tease “Books & Burlesque” on Saturday, May 27. The event is an 18+ burlesque presentation.
Fleur de Tease, the New Orleans-based burlesque troupe created and produced by Trixie Minx, presents a “modern twist on a classic vaudeville show,” according to their website.
Trixie Minx is a burlesque dancer, producer, healthcare advocate and cultural ambassador based in New Orleans. As a performer she is best known for her unique style of striptease combining comedy with classic burlesque. She is recognized for her collaborations with musicians and charitable organizations (such as Comic Relief, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, The New Orleans Bingo! Show, Ascona Jazz Festival,and the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic) as well as her devotion to preservation and growth of New Orleans arts and culture. She produces multiple New Orleans-
based circus art and burlesque shows and designs custom entertainment for both public and private events.
“Books & Burlesque” is a literary-themed program featuring aerialists, burlesque performers and comedic storytelling. Shows are at 8 p.m. and a 10 p.m. at the Toulouse Theatre for the group that claims “no two programs are ever the same.”
Toulouse Theatre is also set to host the Fleur de Tease New Orleans Burlesque Season Finale in June.
Seating for the two shows begins at 7 p.m. for the 8 p.m. show and 9:30 p.m. for the 10 p.m. show, and ticket prices range from $25 to $35, including choices for seated cocktail tables and general admission floor seats.
