There has finally been a development in Jazz Fest programming, the first major update since news broke that The Rolling Stones would no longer appear at the 50th annual event.
In a press release from the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, it was announced that Fleetwood Mac has been added to the lineup for May 2. The iconic rock group behind songs like “Go Your Own Way,” “Don’t Stop,” “Dreams,” “Rhiannon,” “You Make Loving Fun” and “Landslide” will join other all-stars performing that day including Tom Jones, Ziggy Marley, Mavis Staples, Regina Carter’s Southern Comfort and tons more.
Though there was no language suggesting the addition of Fleetwood Mac is a replacement for The Stones, it appears this development is, at least in part, related. Like The Stones’ appearance, Fleewood Mac’s requires a “day-specific ticket” for admission on May 2. Tickets to May 2 are only $75 through April 19. A limited number of VIP packages are available. Tickets are available at www.nojazzfest.com and www.ticketmaster.com.
Jazz Fest has also announced information regarding refunds for those who purchased tickets to see The Rolling Stones. “All General Admission tickets for May 2 will be refunded in full. Ticketholders will receive their refunds at their initial point of purchase,” they said on Facebook.
More additions to Jazz Fest’s line-up include a bevy of local acts:
