Last night’s Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at the Smoothie King Center ended with one hell of a scorcher when the group invited Rebirth Brass Band, Trombone Shorty, George Porter Jr. and Ivan Neville to join them for a show-stopping encore jam. No one looked like they were having a better time than Flea, who spent a solid ten minutes running between the horns, Porter and Neville in what must have been an attempt to feed off everyone’s energy.
It looks like Flea’s fun didn’t stop at the Smoothie King Center, as footage has now surfaced of the Chili Peppers bass master bringing his jam session to the Maple Leaf where Rebirth was busying holding down their famed Tuesday night residency. We don’t know what songs—if any in particular—he played with the band, but here’s a couple clips of the exciting collaboration.
Yea! Flea n rebirth brass band
