For the second year, Fiyawerx Productions is bringing an alternative for the Jazz Fest crowd as they host Fiya Fest 2015, an all-day music festival and crawfish boil on May 1 at Mardi Gras World.
The festival will also feature some of New Orleans’ most prominent artists such as Ivan Neville, George Porter, Jr., Stanton Moore, Mike Dillon, Henry Butler, and many more.
The event benefits the Roots of Music, a non-profit organization that helps and supports music education programs in New Orleans schools, and the New Orleans Clinic, which provides health care and social services to musicians around the city.
Fiyawerx Production is a young music production company that was founded in 2012 by Chris Rogers and Ryan Shapiro.
They have produced shows across town for the past three years, with Fiya Fest as their most prolific event and one of the largests of the season outside of the fairgrounds.
