Find fireworks, music and more at multiple locations for Independence Day

The United States officially turns 246 years old on July 4th. Celebrate in patriotic style at multiple locations throughout metro New Orleans over the holiday weekend.

New Orleans City Park will celebrate Independence Day with a bang! Happy 3rd of July returns to the park on Sunday, July 3. The festivities begin at 7:15 p.m. with the national anthem sung by local artist Robin Barnes, followed by a patriotic program featuring the Marine Forces Reserve Band. The evening culminates with fabulous fireworks atop the Peristyle at 9 p.m.

“Gatherings like these are the lifeblood of New Orleans City Park,” said Cara Lambright, CEO of City Park. “It is our great honor as park stewards to welcome guests from all across the Gulf South for this holiday display. We know it will be a night to remember.”

Faubourg Brewery will host a Red, White and Blue BBQ Fest from July 2-3. The free fest for all ages will feature an all-blues lineup, a 17-foot waterslide, face painter and delicious local food vendors offering tasty barbecue dishes like barbecue chicken sandwiches, pulled pork, brisket, smoked ribs, hot dogs and more.

Celebrate Independence Day at  Lafreniere Park in Metairie at the Uncle Sam Jam, a free festival featuring top local and national acts and a fireworks show to close out the night.  The concert meadow and its sprawling 155-acre green space is an ideal setting to celebrate the July 4th holiday.

Go Fourth on the River is New Orleans’ official fireworks display on the riverfront adjacent to the French Quarter, Crescent Park and Algiers Point.
