The 28th Festival International de Louisiane will be held in Lafayette on April 22 through 26, 2015.
The festival’s organizers have announced this year’s lineup, featuring artists from around the world mixed in among local Louisiana talents.
Grammy Award-winner singer Angélique Kidjo from Bénin, along with Ukrainian folk-punk band DakhaBrakha, Malian singer Vieux Farka Touré and Nomadic Massive from Quebec will take the stage, bringing sounds from around the world to Lafayette.
The festival will also feature Lafayette bands Givers and Buckwheat’s World, along with a multitude of Louisiana artists like Jon Cleary, the Lost Bayou Ramblers, Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience, Bonsoir, Catin and an official Big Freedia After Party.
Other renowned artists from across the country will make their way to Louisiana to perform at the festival, notably the MarchFourth Marching Band from Portland, JC Brooks & the Uptown Sound from Chicago and Grammy award winning nine piece Latin-funk band Grupo Fantasma from Austin.
The festival goers will also have the opportunity to check out the two handcrafted artisans markets that will feature local, national and international artists, as well as a diverse selection of food vendors that will soon be announced.
