New Orleans rock band the Breton Sound needs your help to record their third album.
The band is taking to the road to record two songs apiece in different recording studios across the South that have produced influential music in the past.
Having kicked started the process this past May with a trip up to Ardent Studios in Memphis, Breton Sound lead singer Jonathan Pretus said the band’s crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo will help fund the rest of the planned stops.
While the list of perks ranges from a digital download for a $5 pledge to an executive producer credit for a $5,000 “Diddy Package” pledge, the band is also offering intimate access to all parts of the recording process.
“We’re going to give you the fly on the wall perspective of what it’s like to make a record,” Pretus says in the band’s pitch. “It’s about as close as you can get to actually being in the studio with us.”
The $15,000 fundraising target will pay for studio time, mastering, pressing, and session expenses.
Other perks of donation include a b-side EP of unreleased songs at the $25 level, two tickets to the record release show for $50, a limited edition photobook at the $100 level, and a personalized theme song for $300.
The campaign ends on September 13, and $5,695 has been raised so far.
