Explosions in the Sky will return to New Orleans on Friday, May 13 when they headline a show at the Joy Theater. The popular instrumental post-rock outfit from Austin, TX will be touring in support of their upcoming album, The Wilderness, which is slated for release on April 1.
The Wilderness will mark Explosions in the Sky’s first album since 2011’s Take Care, Take Care, Take Care. Despite their rock instrumentation, the band has become known for its sweeping, almost orchestral arrangements, such as those on their 2007 Hurricane Katrina-inspired album All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone. They’ve also been tapped to score a number of films, including Friday Night Lights, Lone Survivor and Prince Avalanche.
Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday, January 29 at 10am.
